WePlay AniMajor, Dota 2 tournament held by WePlay Esports, got silver at the DataComms Awards, competing in the “Best corporate storytelling through data” category.
In 2021, WePlay Esports held a tournament named WePlay AniMajor with a prize pool of $500,000 and 2,700 DPC points at stake. The event took place from June 2 to 13 at the WePlay Esports Arena Kyiv, in safe and peaceful Ukraine, long before russia invaded its territory.
The DataComms Awards programme is dedicated to recognizing the impact of data on corporate communications. The expert jury, which included CEOs and heads of companies from various fields, assessed the essential work done by the WePlay Esports team and the skillful use of information in the areas of marketing, social media, digital PR, and corporate communications.
“A data-driven approach is a must-have that can boost any PR and marketing campaign — if you use it the right way, of course. This award is a recognition of WePlay Holding’s approach: to pay particular attention to the details.
In the russia-Ukraine war, while russian propaganda denies the existence of Ukrainians as a nation, a recognition of our Ukrainian team in an international contest validates the course of action we have chosen — to only move forward, win, and overcome challenges. And to follow in the footsteps of trendsetters in anything we do, be it hosting esports tournaments, ensuring communications, or helping the world fight evil,” says Alena Dalskaya-Latosiewicz, chief communications officer at WePlay Holding.
The WePlay Esports team will continue to organize fascinating esports events and develop the industry. Many new victories lie ahead.
Stand with Ukraine, which will certainly win soon, too.
