Ukrainian Esports Federation (UESF) together with esports media holding company WePlay Esports will hold an inclusive online CS:GO championship — the #WECAN Independence Battle.

The #WECAN Independence Battle is the third nationwide inclusive tournament and part of the #WECAN series. The competition will be held on August 21 and 22 on the WePlay Tournament Platform with the support of 2E Gaming.

The development of an inclusive esports scene in Ukraine is one of the most important tasks esports organizations face. Combining the expertise of WePlay Esports and UESF will help build a stable esports infrastructure for people with disabilities and offer them an opportunity to regularly take part in championships.

“We at WePlay Esports are happy to support esports events for people with disabilities and contribute to the development of an inclusive esports scene in Ukraine. The previous two tournaments of the #WECAN series were great and were well received by the audience. It’s encouraging to see that more and more people are finding themselves in esports and feeling free to express themselves through it!” Oleksii Nogin, head of tournament operations of WePlay Esports, points out.

Tournaments for people with disabilities give participants the opportunity to become part of the esports community, hone their skills, and find new friends. This is what the Federation’s “Esports for All” social project, under the auspices of which the #WECAN Independence Battle will be held, seeks to accomplish.

“The #WECAN project proves that esports is a universal sport and anyone can become a champion! The tournament format and its approach to team-building mean that players get to meet new people and strike up new friendships, get mentoring, gain new experiences, and master new skills, and we are happy to be contributing to this,” shared Eduard Anokhin, chief operating officer of UESF.

The competitions within the #WECAN Independence Battle will be held according to the double-elimination system in Bo1 match format. In the grand final, the participants will play Bo3 matches.

The prize pool of the #WECAN Independence Battle provided by 2E Gaming:
