During the Dota 2 tournament, the organizers are planning to set a Ukrainian record for the number of competition participants in this discipline.
During the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, the WePlay Esports media holding company in partnership with the Ukrainian Esports Federation (UESF) will hold a Dota 2 tournament titled “Independence Day.”
One of the necessary steps for the development of the esports industry is the promotion of esports among the nation. During the event, the organizers are planning to set a new Ukrainian record for the number of participants in a Dota 2 competition.
The tournament will be held on August 29 in a 1v1 format, Best-of-1, according to the Single Elimination system, when a participant is eliminated after one defeat. In the finals, the remaining gamers will play each other in the Best-of-3 format. The total prize pool is UAH 30,000. The tournament will be held online on the WePlay Compete tournament platform.
“The WePlay Esports team is always open to new ideas and projects that promote esports. Within this tournament, we are not just aiming to set a new record, but also to show how large the esports community is in Ukraine. We look forward to seeing you all on our tournament platform on August 29,” says Oleksii Nogin, head of tournament operations at WePlay Esports.
“Dear Ukrainians, on behalf of the Ukrainian Esports Federation, the UESF, I would like to congratulate everyone on the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence and wish it strength and prosperity.
For this great celebration, we are happy to announce a tournament with a lot of participants. More than once, we have broken Ukrainian records in terms of the number of tournament participants, and I hope that this time, the goal will be achieved once again. I would like to thank our partners at WePlay Esports helping us develop and expand the boundaries of esports in Ukraine.
Join the tournament on August 29 — let’s make each other an amazing gift!” comments Artur Yermolayev, UESF board member and vice-president.
Everyone can take part in the tournament upon registration. You can submit the registration form until August 29.
