WePlay! Dota Underlords Open

WePlay! Dota Underlords Open is the first tournament featuring Open Qualifiers on the one hand and worthy prize pool on the other. Autobattlers haven’t been shown on a big international stage before, but this week this is about to change: WePlay! Esports will broadcast the event live from August 1st to August 4th, 2019.

The Open Qualifiers started on the 24th of July and concluded this Monday, July 29th, with the best 16 players made it to the finals. The soft region-lock system provided comfortable conditions for people from almost all over the world to throw their hat in the competition. The finalists will compete in a Round Robin format; they will be split into 2 divisions, called Vicious Order (Europe time zone) and Crimson Gang (Americas time zone). The names of the world's most skillful Dota Underlords players are as follows:

Vicious Order (Europe time zone): NiroTime, maxbringtheaxe, Yca4, snofe, Cmel, Ciaoknives, Trumad, rist.

Crimson Gang (Americas time zone): JosephDac, MeNoHaxor, ZabeyYaka, BruisedByGod, 4he, Ratt12, FibonacciHS, [F]umeche.

The finalists of the tournament represent seven different countries — Indonesia, Canada, China, Russia, USA, Thailand and Ukraine. Speaking of the tournament's popularity among community and the results of Open Qualifiers, Eugene Luchianenco, Head of Esports at WePlay! Esports has mentioned:

More than five thousand participants in the qualifiersthat’s an astounding number proving how popular Dota Underlords is. Each finalist of WePlay! Dota Underlords Open went through a tough challenge to advance from open qualifiers into the playoff. With that in mind, we decided to expand the prize pool of the event to encourage the best players. In addition to the standings announced earlier, there will be prizes for players who’ll do their best and take the 5th-8th places after the main stage of the tournament”.

The event will be broadcast live on WePlay!'s official Twitch channel.

The tournament will be broadcast by WePlay! in its esportainment concept — a mix of esports and entertainment. Every WePlay! event has a special theme which dictates how the production works, what the casters wear and the type of entertainment plugs used between the matches. The open-ended lore of Dota Underlords practically set the theme for this time and the audience  will be dived deep into a world similar to Gangs of New York. Casters will act as underworld Godfathers rooting for their own gangs.

Either for esportainment or for getting the hang of Dota Underlords, the tournament must be a sight to see. Fans from around the world can catch all the action live from WePlay! Twitch starting from August 1st.
