Today we are making a difficult decision because WePlay Esports has been and will always be guarded by experts who value the team spirit above all. We will soon part ways with a part of our staff members.
We always try to be flexible and adapt to the current circumstances. Everyone knows that esports changes faster than most other business industries. Innovative technical solutions, trade offers, and even competitive formats that worked deftly in 2019 already need to be adapted to the needs of 2021. Building a global product in such an environment requires teams of specialists from different continents ready to take up any challenge.
For the company management and me personally, this decision is tough. I hope the experience of working with WePlay Esports will open many doors for the former employees of the media holding company.
Since September 2018, we have hosted two dozen tournaments in Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, VALORANT, Artifact, Dota Underlords, and Mortal Kombat 11. Over the past year, our team overcame enormous difficulties: we organized a charity marathon in just seven days, become versed in two new esport games, switched to remote work, awarded over $1.6 in prizes. I want to believe that the specialists with who we are parting ways will soon become essential members of new teams.
With respect to the team,
Oleh Humeniuk, CEO of WePlay Esports
